“ Hello Yann, what kind of projects do you work on as a data scientist? ”

Jeremie C. asked a question in topic Life at the Company
to Yann C. AI Research Engineer & Data Scientist, Amaris Lab

What kinds of profiles are most likely to be recruited?
AI Research Engineer & Data Scientist, Amaris Lab

Hi Jeremie,

Before giving you examples, I would like to explain to you our way of working.

In the R&D lab of Amaris, data science projects are extraordinarily diverse in term of size and domain. As one of our primary goals is to respond to the Amaris group’s needs, we will impact many different classic aspects of an international group as finance, recruitment, market analysis, management, IT systems, administrations etc... It is particularly convenient because we have direct access to the group’s data and the expert’s feedbacks. However, we also respond to external needs. All these works are always driven in an R&D way mostly taking the form of Proof Of Concepts. Some projects, for example in Natural Language Processing, are pretty hard to deal with so the data science work might be transferred to the research pipe in our lab.

So to give you examples, in data science, we have made all sort of matchmaking tools (profiles to needs, research papers to research domains) with NLP, clustering and classification, anomaly detection on time series with RNNs/autoencoders, geographic human flow model for market analysis with Markov Models and so on.

Have a nice day.
